The Trip
Mountain Biking Morocco is such a treat, there are single track mountain passes for the advanced, off road tracks that offer everything from climbs to exciting downhills to awesome views to technical sections. There are forest trails with some great routes and challenges that will get the best out of you.
The region really has got something for everyone and all abilities. However this trip is far more than just a Mountain Biking adventure holiday, You will travel through unspoilt countryside, meet villagers who still work the land with methods from yesteryear and learn about the local culture and way of life. All of this will be achieved as we pass by and make some well earned pitstops at these remote Mountain Villages.
Making memories that will stay with you forever, and gaining insight that will make you think very differently.
Personal Expenses – These are minimal, you may wish to purchase some souvenirs or shop in Marrakech, but on the cycling days, there are no hidden costs.
Flights – We tend to fly form the London based airports, as they have the best value and most regular flights. We try to coordinate the bookings so we all go on the same plane, but this is optional and you are free to travel from anywhere. As long as you land on the same date as as the tour commences.
Bikes – We have included the hire of bikes in the package, many have this as a hidden cost with hire as an option. The reason behind this is the bikes we hire are of good quality and at a good rate. This method is probably easier and cheaper that transporting your own. If you do want to bring your own, please contact us and we can amend the price.
Cycling Routes – We spend 6 to 9hrs out each day and will cover a distance of approximately 30km daily. The elevation increase and decrease will vary but expect undulating routes, with some decent down hills. For the very big climbs uplifts are provided, via mule or 4×4’s. Although routes are planned we have the flexibility to change these at short notice to ensure the group get the best and most appropriate ride for them.
Being Responsible – We try to make these breaks as ethical as possible by supporting the local people and their economy. All the people we work with are local independent providers and as a result they take personal pride in the service they give you. Whilst the monies paid goes directly into the local community. We ensure that they are suitably registered, qualified and experienced in what they do.
Trek Mount Toubkal
The Next Trip
- 14th to 17th September 2023.
- Cost = £430
To book or register interest please contact us on.
This trip gives you the unique opportunity, To hike North Africa’s highest peak. The beauty of this trek is that is can be done in a long weekend and within only a 3hr 40min flight from the UK.
Mount Toubkal is situated in the High Atlas Mountains an area that is steeped in tradition of the Berber people and surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. The hike will see us walk through these villages as we make our way to the summit. This is a tough but achievable challenge that will see you take on altitude on the way to the 4167m peak.
The Mountain can be hiked with no technical ability as we follow goat tracks to the summit. However the winter months may see the peak and the path layered with snow, which add to the challenge and beauty.
The main issue we will face is Altitude, we will be operating in an area of reduced oxygen and this can effect people in different ways, especially if not managed. We will look after you and manage the rise in altitude the best we can to give you the best opportunity to succeed.
