Below are the logistics you need to know for Ras Dewi Sant 2024. Another email will be sent out with the event safety brief. No information or race items will be sent out in the post. Please scroll down and read the section relevant to your distance. Because there are differences.
Full Marathon – Registration
- Car Parking – Quickwell Hill Car Park, Next to the Registration Point. Is the nearest. The charging at this site is from 09:00 hrs and is £4.50 for 4 hrs and £6 for 24 hrs. Then a 10 minute walk away is Oriel y Parc (Tourist information centre) which has a similar charging rate.
- Registration Location – Ty’r Pererin Education & Pilgrimage Centre, Quickwell Hl, St Davids, Haverfordwest SA62 6PD.
- Registration Times and Dates – Friday, 1st March 2024, open between 1600 hrs and 2000 hrs
- Registration Times and Dates – Saturday 2nd March 2024, open between 0700hrs hrs and 0730 hrs
- Pre Race Briefing – Sat, 2nd March 0745hrs at the starting line – St Davids Bishop’s Palace, Cathedral Close St Davids, SA62 6PE (3 minute walk from Registration point)
- Race Starting Time – Sat, 2nd March, 0800hrs at the starting line – St Davids Bishop’s Palace, Cathedral Close St Davids, SA62 6PE
Marathon – Race Details
Please see the route link above, which has has the full course on it. You can down load the app and have it on your phone or send it to a device.
But the important thing is, when you are not on the coast path. Follow the “Yellow background signs with the black arrow”. Then when you are on the coast path follow the Wooden finger post signs with the directional arrow displaying an “ACORN” Just remember you should be able to see the sea and it is on your “Right” – Follow the ACORN!
Marathon Aid Stations
Please note the below distances and locations of the aid stations and check points (CP). It is vital that you register your number at the check points even if you do not want to stop for aid. This is a safety requirement. CP’s 2,3,4 will have food and drink. The food will be cold buffet, sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls, and energy items such as sweets and chocolate, with fizzy drink and water. If you have any special dietary requirements or can only run on certain food, we suggest you bring your own. We can make sure it is at an aid station for you. (The Aid Station will have Vegan friendly options)
- CP1 – 7.1 Miles Porthgain Harbour (Start of the Coast Path Section) – Check Point.
- CP2 – 9.3 Miles Abereiddy Beach Car Park. Check Point and Aid Station.
- CP3 – 16.5 Miles Whitesands Beach Car Park. Check Point and Aid Station
- CP4 – 23.1 Miles Porthclais Harbour. Check Point and Aid Station
- CP5 – 24.9 Miles Caerfai Car Park (End of the Coast Path Section) – Check Point and Water
Mandatory Kit List
We are expecting it to be cold on Saturday, The forecast is for a stiff Northly Wind with the temperatures feeling like 1 degree. Therefore it is a must that the minimum kit is carried. That you allow for the remoteness of the course and can be self sufficent and warm if you have to slow down or stop. We also recommend that you have a plan for the finish line to have warm clothes waiting or nearby. Bags can be left at the registration point.

- Glow stick / flashing beacon / head torch

Post Race
There will be complimentary Cawl (Welsh Soup/Stew) hot drink and refreshments back at the registration point. From 1030 hrs till 1600 hrs so please come back and make the most of it.
- Awards – Where possible awards will be given at the finish line (Top of the Cathedral Steps).
- Record Breaking – If anyone breaks or thinks they have broken the course record this this will be verified back at the registration point by Fintan. You will need to have your run recorded on strava or a similar app. To verify the route taken. (Of Course I believe you, but trust no one suspect everyone and I’m never disappointed 🙂 )
- If you beat your PB – We will verify the same way. This can be done slow time in the days after the event.
- DNF’s – If you with draw please ensure race officals are made aware and the timing band is returned to the finish line.

10K Water Stop
The 10K has one water stop, Which is at Whitesands Beach at the 2.1 mile mark. There will be water at the finish line for you as well.
Recommended Kit
It will be cold on the coast path, please dress appropriately. The path is also muddy and although it is only 1/3 of the distance, it is still vital to have good robust trainers/trail shoes with lots of grip.
Post Race
