Event Information and logistics for Tour de Shane (Pembrokeshire Sportive 2019)

Event Registration

will take place on either

Friday 29th March between 1500hrs and 1900hrs at the Cross Hotel, Cross Sq, St Davids, SA62 6SP


The Day of the event 30th March (Saturday) between 0800hrs and 0845hrs at The Bishops Palace, St Davids

Logistic for Tour de Shane

Aid Stations

The 70 Mile Ride will have 2 Aid Stations

  1. 35.9 Miles (Penycwm)
  2. 58.8 Miles (Mathry)

The 50 Mile Ride will have 1 Aid Station

  1. 35.9 Miles (Penycwm)

The Aid Stations will have water, fizzy drinks, sandwiches, pizza, cake, sweets, chocolate, sausage rolls, crisps and other such energy and carb delights!!!!!!

In regards to the water we are trying to cut down on our plastic use. So will have larger bottles to empty into your water bottles. We will have cups available to drink at the stations.


For those arriving early we recommend that you park

The Merryvale Car Park – Post Code SA62 6RJ

The Car Park is operated by a pay and display and has 73 spaces plus six blue badge holders’ spaces. If using this car park you will enter the Bishops Palace via the rear entrance (directly opposite the entrance to the car park. It will be sign posted.

£3 for 4 hrs

£5 for 24hrs

Quickwell Hill Car Park – SA62 6NS

This Car Park is operated by a pay and display and has 76 spaces plus 5 blue badge holders’ spaces. If using this Car Park. You can make your way down to the main entrance of the Bishops Palace via the road on Quickwell Hill (400M)

£5 for 24hrs

Oriel y Parc – (St Davids Tourist Information Centre) Post Code SA62 6QT

This is a large Car Park. It is approximately ½ Mile from the Bishops Palace.

£3 for 3hrs

£5 for 24hrs


There will be approximately 200 persons taking part so if people car share and those staying in St Davids cycle to the Palace in the Morning we fully expect the first two car parks to cope with the demand.

The Route and Safety briefing will follow in a couple of days. But the route can be viewed on the website and please note as stated it has changed from last year.

The Course & Signage

The course is sign posted and will have marshals at some locations. The Marshals are for guidance, they have no power to stop traffic.

We do not provide printed maps, there is a copy of the map online for you to view.

Changing facilities / Showers / Bag Storage

There are no showers on site sorry

You can change in one of the Palaces dungeons (not as bad as it sounds)

Bags can be left at registration point. This is not fully secured so please be mindful what s left in them.
