The Amman Adventure 2018

Two weeks ago we had to postpone the Amman Adventure due to a biblical like downpour. A quick turn around meant that half the original field could not make the event, which is a shame but we thank them for their understanding and look forward to seeing the vast majority in the next TdS. For those who did make it, there seems to be one theme of conversation going around the Amman Utd Club House after the ride. That the Climb up the Black Mountain was a very windy one! and the descent was even windier with riders needing to peddle hard down the steepest of steep hills!!!!

We think this hard start made a few people think it’s a day for the 50 rather than the 80. However the hard start soon made sure that the riders soon forgot about the chilly start. Now the human nature is to always focus on the hard bit and the challenge as that’s what it’s all about. After the talk of the wind was the agreement that the clear ski’s, long stretches of continuous roads and quiet mountain passes made the ride a scenic marvel and a most enjoying spin.

Congratulations to all those who took part. It certainly was a challenge but a worthwhile one we hope. And although it was a sportive open to all abilities and goals as ever there were some great individual performances and times posted as seen below.
