Pencarnan Run
Weeks 3 – Kids Run – Results
Once again great to see so many very small ones running with their parent, family friends and grandparents. It really does promote the fun element of the Pencarnan runs.
Meanwhile up in the top 3 Tom David had his toughest race of the series, With Sam Griffiths and Finley Bruce staying with him and pushing him all the way to the end. With the first lady not far behind these 3 coming in at 6th overall was Emma Grittens and about 90 seconds behind her was Tom’s younger sister Katie David with the 3rd female being Poppy Westmoreland.

Week 3 – 5K – Results
The 5K was just a little bit longer about .4 of a K more, which to some was not welcomed – I think they spoke in jest!
The 5K championship is looking quite tight! With young Kieran Owen returning to series after his South African experience to take top spot and with his partner in crime being injured on the tour, Kieran is looking good! And it was nice to see old timer Noel Lyons climb up the finishing order to take 3rd spot this week. And in 4th was the first female Sarah Phillips. Her early morning bootcamp training appears to be working. The 2nd female was Naomi Jones who trailed Sarah for the whole course but failed to catch her and on the opposite scale of things her 5 days of heavy drinking in Magaluf seemed to do the job too! With Rhian Bruce on holiday in the area from Tenby taking 3rd spot. Well done to all.

Week 3 – 10K – Results
Now what can I say about the 10K! It was meant to be the simplest of courses you could do, Run to St Davids Head and Back! An out and back run.
But someone forgot to tell our marshal who sent the first 6 runners the wrong way! A bit frustrating for them. They finished the run of 5.5 miles. And through no fault of their own did not finish the course. Meanwhile the first lady to get to the rogue marshal point (Catherine Marks) had the sense to tell the Marshal she was wrong and went the right way and the rest followed Catherine and the initial in instructions and went the right way. Which also meant that Catherine was the overall winner with Glyn Owen taking second spot and first Male. Harsh on the first 6 but what can we do! This keeps the championship alive!
We did have a few issues with a sign near the end being ripped off its post, it didn’t cause too much problems but confused a few. Some people can be just a pain in the backside – Leave the signs alone!!
