The Fan Dance – Team Challenge

Pen y Fan – Brecon Beacons
The Fan Dance – Team Challenge. Will see teams take on the arduous Fan Dance Route in the Brecon Beacons. A weighted march featured on Special Forces selection hills phase and utilised by Elite units such as The Parachute Regiment for Platoon training.

What to Expect?
An out and back 15 mile arduous trek, taking in Pen Y Fan (twice), Jacobs Ladder and The Roman Road. Prior to the start there will be a safety brief and route cards issued. There will be an admin area available at the turnaround point to replenish food and water.

How the actual challenge is run, will be finalised on discussion with yourselves. The options we have vary from, self navigation, to guided hikes. These can be weight baring or not and for time or not. The fan dance route is a tough challenge and we will adapt the conditions to suit your needs. Which ever option you choose, we will have a safety team on route to guide you and assist where necessary.

What Order Is Best?
There are a couple of routes that can be used, we will discuss with you our preferred route in the build up to the event but will be adaptable enough to pick the most appropriate on the day that allows the best chance of completing the challenge for your group, taking into consideration the weather and daylight hours available.

The Fan Dance – Team Challenge is ideal for a group of friends, a sports club, charity organisation or work colleagues on a team bonding weekend. It’s tiring and involves a lot of elevation, but it can be achieved by all with a good level of walking fitness and strong determination.
